Johanna Muy

Senior CHW/Educator – Queens

Johanna was born in a small city in Ecuador. Ever since she was little she had vocation to help others in their community. She started to volunteer at the age of 12 for a Catholic organization that helped children living in the streets in Guayaquil. Before moving to the U.S., she lived in the Ecuadorian Amazon, and she continues to help and support that community. Aware of the difficulties faced by immigrant women — especially the emotional challenges — she volunteered at Grameen VidaSana for four years.

Johanna is filled with great emotion knowing that she will have the opportunity to help women from hard-working communities to pave their way for a better future.
