Born in Mexico and raised in Panama, Dr. Luis received his medical degree in Nicaragua and in Panama obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Marketing. He has been part of Medtronic’s team for 13 years. A few years ago he was presented with the opportunity to participate through Medtronic Foundation Partner’s supporting health worker’s (promotoras) to strengthen and positively impact local communities by leveraging their skills and resources. Dr. Luis believes that seeing the promotoras achieve their goals and being liaisons between their communities and health/social services is the most gratifying feeling.
