Maria Samaniego

Senior CHW/Educator – Charlotte

Maria Samaniego was born in Manta, Ecuador. At the age of 19, she immigrated to Charlotte, North Carolina with the hope of a better future. Thanks to her will and determination to get ahead, Maria was able to obtain her certification as a Medical Assistant — it was there that she had the opportunity to do her externship in a clinic where 90% of its patients were Latino, and it was from that moment that she discovered how great her community was and the great feeling that helping some of them generates to others.

Maria is also a volunteer at a non-profit organization, and she is currently part of the great family that is Grameen Promotoras. Maria is very happy to work for her community.
