Silvia Palma
CHW / Educator - Queens
Silvia was born and raised in Ecuador and has been residing in New York since 2012. A trained Dance and Fitness Teacher, Silvia dedicated four years to volunteering at nursing homes, spreading hope and joy. She also worked as a Medical Assistant at a Gynecology Clinic in Manhattan, gaining insight into women’s healthcare needs. Last year, Silvia graduated as a Community Health Worker from Make the Road, and she is very happy and grateful to have the opportunity to work at Grameen America/ Grameen Promotoras. Here she is looking forward to providing health and wellness education and connecting women with services to improve their lives.
From a young age, Silvia has engaged in activities where she could reach people in different situations, delivering assistance and organizing activities to improve their quality of life. Throughout her life, especially after moving to New York, Silvia has faced numerous challenges that have fostered her resilience. This resilience enables her to help others wholeheartedly, living by the belief that “Everything works out for the best.”
