Violeta Rodriguez
Field Director
Violeta was born in New York City, but was raised in Mexico City. At the age of 15 she moved back to New York and struggled to adapt to the language and the new lifestyle. Violeta and her family unfortunately had bad experiences with the public systems and services in the city, but was motivated to make a change and worked for different organizations within her community. While working as a cashier at a local supermarket, she was able to get her Associates Degree in Human Services at City College of Technology.
Violeta joined Grameen America in 2013, and worked there for 7 years before joining Grameen Promotoras. At Grameen, she learned that working for the community is her passion. Providing services for low-income women and helping their families is a great achievement, and this is why Violeta decided to try a new path and focus on helping the same community regarding their well-being.
