Edith was born and raised in Xalapa Veracruz, Mexico. She came to New York City 22 years ago. Edith was previously an instructor for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Department of Labor). In addition, she completed the Make the Road New York Community Health Worker Training Program and is currently completing her certification as a Mental Health Peer Support Specialist from La Guardia Community College.
