Nora Acevedo

CHW/Educator - Charlotte

Nora was born and raised in Honduras, and came to Charlotte when she was 15. The English language was hard for her to learn but she didn't give up, and all through high school she was in ESL programs. That was where Nora’s passion for helping my Hispanic community began. Every time a new student arrived from their country of origin without knowing a drop of English, she loved helping them with how to get to their classes, even translating for them.

Nora is excited to be part of Grameen Promotoras and get involved with the community and grow professionally in this role. One of her goals is to travel around the world as much she can and get to know different cultures. Nora also loves to workout and be active.
